For years, I’ve had various folders scattered across different computers and hard drives with BBS-related files. The folders seem to have multiplied – a mess that I planned to eventually organize. Over the last few years, I’ve thought about this extensively, and had several half-starts of a website to organize all of these BBS files. I’ve had different ideas about *how* to do it and what the interface should be – and, finally got something off the ground.
bbsfiles.org is now live and functional in a “version 0.1” sense. The current features are:
- You can browse the contents inside an archive (zip file)
- All text and ANSI content is viewable in the browser
- search should find contents inside of archives
- there are categories and tags – I will use a lot of categories, as I can optionally write long descriptions on categories (similar to how Jason Scott has lots of info on various BBS softwares on his software.bbsdocumentary.com site).
